Gorgeous! Love these products. Thanks for demo, super helpful. Love your hair too.
What ph should shampoo bars be?
yes!!!! They last way longer than liquid shampoo and are amazing quality + better for environment 💚
each batch varies but generally between 4 and 6, which is perfect for hair!
is it scented ?
Our Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner Concentrates (shown in the video) do have a fresh, floral scent but if you're after an unscented option we have this too! Feel free to check out our unscented range here: ethique.com/collections/unscented 💚
Yes! Most of our products are scented, but we do have an unscented haircare line!
Love it!
Also you can find it in chemist warehouse
I have super oily hair and this product didn’t work for me. Using it as a back up body wash till it runs out. Unfortunately I have been able to find a shampoo bar that sufficiently works with oily hair
I'm sorry to hear that St Clements hasn't worked well for your hair! We have a product guarantee, and I'd love it if you could flick us an email over at hello@ethique.com so we can help you find a Shampoo Bar better suited for you 💚 ~ Georgia
Make sure it doesn't have soap?? What does that mean?
Soap can be found in some Shampoo Bars, but not ours! Soap is a really good at cleaning, but it does have one serious drawback. True soap is really alkaline - it simply cannot hold its structure below a pH of about 9. While most people’s skin copes with that ok (for which you can thank the acid mantle), your hair won’t! If you'd like to learn more about this, we have a great blog on this topic: ethique.com/blogs/science/what-is-soap 💚 ~ Georgia
well done great milestone!!
Thanks so much for your support, we are thrilled to finally reach having saved over 30 million bottles - now onto the next 30 million! ~ Georgia
I just ordered them all today, I can’t wait to receive them. They were all together for a very discounted price. Thanks for your review and tips on applying using the “tapping” method for the more vivid colours, I’d seen this previously but totally forgotten it.
You ordered them all just in time as we finish up Plastic Free July! I hope you love all your new lipsticks 💄💚 ~ Georgia
I love this thanks for the info 🫶
If you're like me and have nothing that measures in ml, but have a kitchen scale, 300ml of water is equal to 300g of water.
great tip - thanks for sharing! 💚🌏 ~ Georgia
Hi I just received my first order from Ethique, and one sample says it’s best before 111118 and another says it’s best before 071122. Does this mean that these are expired?
Hey Uria, those are our batch reference numbers - We use Period After Opening (PAO) instead of best before dates. The PAO symbol is a graphic symbol that identifies the useful lifetime of a product after its package has been opened for the first time. It depicts an open cosmetics pot and is used together with a written number of months or years. If these are both Shampoo Bars (or minis) the PAO will be 12 months! Hope this helps ~Kate
Stay classy!
Mine is every four days lather twice- lasts around 11 weeks I have thick long hair
My question is does it really cleans the hairs like shampoos??
It sure it does! We have a great blog on everything you need to know about solid shampoos, I'd recommend checking out here: ethique.com/blogs/ethique-products/everything-you-need-to-know-about-solid-shampoo-bars We also have 40,000 5 start reviews, you can check these out on our website! 💚~ Georgia
The liquid shampoo is essentially the same, but with 60% water and packaged in a plastic bottle.
Wow I got one of these! So good 😊!
Yeah it’s baddie
Ma hair use't te get rediculously oily when I used bottled shampoo. L'Oreal Kids, Timotei minty tea tree, Tresemme, it didny matter. I thought it was ma fault, fir most ma life, an' it was jus' how hings were. I got an itchy, irritated, greasey, oil slick of a scalp by bedtime or next mornin'. I always had an itchy warm, sair scalp. Bein' Autistic, that created a frellton of sensory stress. When I shifted te Foamie bars, it reduced a wee bit, but no by much. But, after I tested the Tip to Toe bar on ma fringe, sink wash, in 2020, then decided te fully use it 🙀 I can go as long as 7 or 8 days, at most, 5 days at minimum, no hair washin', an' low te no sensory sensitivities. (Aye, I discontinued use of Foamie bars, after that. They did not live up te their name. Compared te Ethique, they barely foamed.) The scalp oil is completely different in quality, also. Almost cleaner, an' feels cleanish longer, less offensive 🤔 moisturises ma widden comb & hairstick beautifully(like oiled by a fancy product), as well 😹 I've try't Tip to Toe, Mintasy, St.Clements, an' Tip to Tot(absolutely brilliant fir Spoonless days,,,please, dinne discontinue it, its a wee Disability lifesaver), an' the results are the same fir each. Ma scalp has the same positive reaction. So, when I'm rediculously spoonless & can only manage either sink washes, or wipes, ma scalp is fine when I canne manage te wash ma hair fully(I'll still wash ma fringe & face, though). I'm less sensory stress't, aw thanks te Ethique. Chemically, allergy wise, Ethique products are brillliant fir me,,,nae sneezin, nae sinus aches, nae sair heids, nae wee red spots, nae warm itchy skin, nuthin'. I can actually safely enjoy scented products, via Ethique. Also, the great hing, Dyspraxia wise, is I'm nae longer droppin' heavy shampoo bottles on ma feet 😹 or accidently slicin' ma finger pad or nailbed via the lids of shampoo bottles 🤔 sometimes the bar catapults oot ma hand(usually when new & full sized), mysteriously 🙀 but, still safer then a bottle 😸
Sugarplum lip balm
Think goose😂
But when will you restock my Superstar 😢
Unfortunately we've discontinued SuperStar and wont be making any more, as we're working on something new and improved - think cleansing balm in a home compostable container. 😏 In the meantime our Bliss Bar (ethique.com/products/bliss-bar-face-cleanser-for-normal-to-dry-skin) is a fantastic option for a make up remover (if that's what you're after) - just double cleanse if you're removing waterproof mascara! ~ Georgia
Question, how do you tell the difference between your shampoo and conditioner and shave cream bars
Great question! We've recently changed some of our bar shapes to make them easier to identify: Shampoo bars: remain unchanged in their iconic, practical square shape. Conditioner bars: now a sleek, circular shape. The rounded edges also mean the bar are thicker to remain the same weight, which helps your bar last even longer without breaking. Prior to the shape change the easier was to identify between the Shampoo and Conditioner bar was their size - Shampoo bars are 110g vs 60g for the conditioner. Hope this helps but please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions! ~Kate
If you can formulate some styling products I would try them! I already use shampoo and conditioner bars but I can’t give up my style routine
On our ideas board!
My skin is SUPER sensitive to face washes and especially lotions afterwards. Not only are they package free, they don’t burn my skin! I repurchased the trial pack of the face wash bc a little lasts a while for me but I’m going to repurchase the moisturizer in a full size because of how dry my skin is
This is awesome to hear - Great for the planet and your skin! Thanks so much for sharing ~Kate
Leave the shampoo bar but kinda expensive
While our bars may seem expensive at the get-go; in the long run, they really aren’t. Our conditioners last 6 months on average, with some customers saying theirs last a year! We are also focused on many other areas besides being plastic free. We use only biodegradable, palm oil free, naturally derived and responsibly sourced ingredients which can be up to 15x more expensive than its counterparts. For example, using palm isn’t an option for us, so we use alternatives, which can be 8-15 times more expensive. And as one of the highest-rated BCorps in the world, we are focused on the people also, we are also living wage employers and ensure that our suppliers are fairly paid for their goods. This can't be said for all shampoo bar makers. You can find out more on our pricing transparency page: ethiqueworld.com/pages/pricing-transparency We also donate 2% of our annual sales to charity. Hope this helps but please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns! ~Meg
In my experience the bamboo shampoo box seems to keep a lot of the moisture in and cause the bars to get a bit soft and mushy. The trays are much better.
Hey Aaron, sorry to hear about your experience with the in shower container! Our bars need a combination of drainage, airflow and dry air, so depending on your shower/bathroom set up you might find that your bars need a bit more airflow. For example, my mum's bars are happy in the in shower container at her place but at my place the bathroom doesn't have the best ventilation and the shower is more closed in. To get some better airflow and help my bars dry out I keep them out of the shower and pop lid of the container underneath (like a drip tray) or sit them on one of the storage trays. Great to hear that you're finding the storage trays work better for you, if you're still having any trouble getting your bars to dry out, we have some storage tips here too ethiqueworld.com/blogs/ethique-products/top-ways-to-store-your-ethique-solid-shampoos or please feel free to email us at hello@ethique.com ~Meg
I say this with love for some of your other products but the period of time I used the hair bars is when my hair looked the worst 😂
Oh no, that doesn't sound like the bars we know and love! We do have a product guarantee and would really like to help with this - could you please send our Miracle Workers an email at hello@ethique.com so we can get some details from you? ~Meg

All cosmetic products contain phthalates
Hi Chloe, thanks for your comment! You’re right - a lot of cosmetics definitely do, however we’re proud to say that our products are phthalate free 🙌 It can be quite a complex topic, but if you’re interested, we have a blog post here with some really handy resources that delve more into the world of phthalates: ethiqueworld.com/blogs/ethique-products/are-ethique-products-fragrance-and-phthalate-free ~Bayleigh

Can you share the fragrance ingredients that you use?
Hi Kelly, we primarily use essential oils for fragrance, and list them as ingredients where they are present. However, some scents are not available as essential oils, and this is where we use fragrances instead. We presently only use three natural fragrances: one for vanilla and one for coconut, as vanilla essential oil and coconut essential oil do not exist, as well as a peach/mango fragrance. Hence, across our range, you will find that only our products which have a vanilla, coconut or peach/mango component to their fragrance will have 'parfum' listed - such as our lavender & vanilla-scented Botanica deodorant, coconut-scented Frizz Wrangler shampoo and peach/mango scented Sorbet shampoo. As a note, ‘parfum’ is the legally required ingredient listing of a fragrance, regardless whether it is of natural or synthetic origin. I can confirm that the ones we use are certified natural, and are made by mixing natural components and compounds from other essential oils to create a scent. 🙂 We are very selective of the ingredients we use in our products. All our ingredients must fit three criteria before we consider using them: - they must be safe to use and free from health concerns - they must be cruelty-free - they must be able to be sustainably produced and disposed of Our ingredients are all naturally-derived. If it's of interest, you can find out more information on our ingredients through this link: ethique.com/pages/ingredients. ~Meg
Can I just throw these anywhere?
Make sure to choose an environment that works with your seeds, and look for places that are already supporting growth 😊💚 ~Nick
@@ethiqueworld Thank you, I'll certainly give this a go ^^
Add more to concentrates line.
Hi @iamragdogsally, thanks for your comment, what concentrates would you like to see? ~Eleanor
@@ethiqueworld the most popular are Mintasy and the Guardian I believe. Bjt in a perfect world it would be smart to have them all in the concentrates option. Concentrates are way more user friendly this will definitely get more people to use Ethique.
Tulip❤❤
Such a lovely shade! ~Meg
